Approaching from the direction of Cologne on the A 61 autobahn highway: continue past the Koblenz intersection on the highway an exit via the Dieblich exit (directly after the Mosel valley bridge, 138 m high), continue in the direction of the Mosel river, then turn left on the B 49 road and continue towards Cochem. Follow this road. Pass through Dieblich, Niederfell and Oberfell until you get to Alken. You will find adequate parking facilities for buses at the entrance to the village.

a) a) approaching from the direction of Mainz on the A61 autobahn highway: take the Alken / Pfaffenheck exit, continue in the direction of Kastellaun. After driving through the village of Pfaffenheck, turn right and follow the signs to Alken. Continue to the end of the village, there are adequate parking facilities for buses there.

b) Approaching from the direction of Trier on the A 48 autobahn highway: take the Ochtendung exit and continue in the direction of Kobern-Gondorf. In Kobern-Gondorf, continue towards Cochem. Continue driving along the Mosel river, after about 8 km you will see the historic Thurant castle on the other bank of the river, as well as the wine village of Alken. Cross the river on the Mosel bridge, and continue through Alken to the end of the village, there are adequate parking facilities for buses there.
